Hedûr is Aynur's long-expected new studio album, the first album release after several years and after Aynur's decision to live outside her home-country Turkey. It has been a consequent step in Aynur's career to arrange and produce her new album by herself. Combining Kurdish traditional music with jazz elements and contemporarysounds, she is bringing the Kurdish tradition into the present. The album presents new own compositions as well as traditional songs from the archive of Huseyin Erdem, Kurdish writer and initiator of the Kurdish PEN center. Aynur has explored the Kurdish folk tradition in six albums since 2004. In addition to earning accolades in the Turkish and international press, Aynur’s music has received the acclaim of fellow artists. Aynur has collaborated with numerous outstanding musicians, including Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, Kayhan Kalhor, Javier Limón, Kinan Azmeh, the Nederland Blazers Ensemble, the NDR Big Band and many more.
