While Johannes Tinctoris (c. 1435-1511) is known today primarily as an important theorist, we know next to nothing about the composer Barbingant. His Missa Terriblement is presented here as a premiere recording. Based on the chanson of the same name, Barbingant - uniquely in music history - wove this chanson into all three voices of the mass.
