Produktbeskrivelse

Berlin’s Best
It is surely one of the most beautiful declarations of love on the flute: Claude Debussy’s Prélude à l’aprèsmidi d’un faune. But what happens when love grows and grows? Then the 14 Berliner Flötisten led by Andreas Blau are in their element. The musicians, all of them soloists from the best Berlin orchestras, begin their program dedicated to famous masterpieces of the fin de siècle with their adaptation of this famous orchestral work – but not before a certain insect flies by with breathtaking virtuosity.

French Suite
The Petite Suite also demonstrates just how finely Debussy’s music can cuddle up to the warm sound of the transverse flute: the gentle waves, set in motion by the mild zephyr in “En bateau” could not be more vividly represented in music! The rococo reminiscence in the dance movements is remarkably and genially foreignized, and the unreal atmosphere of Claire de lune takes on a very special dimension in this unique arrangement by the 14 Berliner Flötisten.

Bohemian Serenade
And then this ensemble, extraordinary in so many ways, rises to the challenge posed by a major romantic wind composition: even in Antonín Dvorák’s famous Serenade the flutists show what their instruments have in them. The instrumental lineup ranges from the tiniest sopranino to the contrabass flute (with its twists and turns, also an impressive sight to see), and when expert lips do the playing, the Bohemian color seems familiar and yet new – and in any case is heard in typical “Berlin sound.”

Flute Company
The arrangement by Christiane Hupka, who also plays various flutes in the ensemble and has known her colleagues and their individual strengths very well for many years, sees to it that everything is just right. In the overture to Nikolaus von Reznicek’s opera Donna Diana she turns to a genuine hit showing the members of the merry wind company in their best light. Strong in sound, virtuosic, and guaranteed to bring great joy to flute fans – and not only to them!
