After studying at the Conservatorio C. Pollini in Padua, Francesco Galligioni specialized in the Baroque cello. He is one of the founding members of the Venice Baroque Orchestra around Giuliano Carmignola, with whom he has toured and recorded numerous CDs. For his recording of Bach's cello suites he uses an anonymous Cremonesian instrument from the end of the 17th century.
