Carlo Gesualdo’s music is characterized by extravagant harmonies, chromatic modulations, wide intervallic leaps and sometimes hardly catchy melodies, which not only reflect the drama of the text or the mannerism of his time, but also the emotional disorder of his creator. The ensemble LuciSerene, conducted by Mauro Borgioni, presents a selection from the outrageous madrigals of Gesualdo.
