Johann Sigismund Kusser (1660-1727) is probably the German composer whose output is aesthetically closest to the French style of his time – apparently he stayed in Paris for some years and also worked with Jean-Baptiste Lully. The latter’s style is always present in Kusser’s compositions and the six orchestral ouvertures included in this album can only be called great French Baroque music... re-release of a former K617 production!
