The important Leuven Chansonnier (composed 1470-75) contains a total of fifty pieces by the great Flemish-French composers of the 15th century, such as Johannes Ockeghem, Antoine Busnoys and Firminus Caron, as well as twelve recently rediscovered works not found in any other manuscript known to date. In their recording for PASSACAILLE, the French Sollazzo Ensemble under the direction of Anna Danilevskaia offers us a representative selection of this precious music in an interpretation that is as refreshing as it is brilliant.
