The foundation of Harpreet’s compositions is decades of schooling and training within the Indian raga tradition, with its scales and frameworks, from which she ventures in various directions. The music is North Indian Classical but draws on various folk music styles, contemporary classical music, Bollywood and much else besides and between. The result is an album characterised by its mix of sounds, unpredictable structures and seamless transitions within and between each track. Together, these three songs provide a very special soundscape where some listeners will experience the discovery of new territory, while others will feel something close to a homecoming.

This vibrant new recording captures the sweeping lyricism, rhythmic vitality, and emotional depth of Florence Price’s 1934 piano concerto — a work that reflects the composer’s unique blend of classical forms with African American spirituals and folk idioms. 

Mezzo-soprano Christina Herresthal makes her recording debut with the EP Sånger från Aftonland,, featuring the ensemble Hehku under the direction of conductor Aliisa Neige Barrière. The centerpiece of the release is Danish composer Per Nørgård’s hauntingly lyrical song cycle, composed in 1956 when he was just 24 years old—the same age Herresthal was when she recorded the work in 2022 as a heartfelt tribute for Nørgård’s 90th birthday. 

 

 

Acclaimed composer Martin Romberg presents ArtsandSigns, a striking new piano album performed by Alexandra Silocea. This release explores the deep connection between music, symbolism, and visual art, offering an immersive and ethereal listening experience. 

 

 

Fjordklang features 19 selected works from the “Vestfold Cycle” — a growing series of 43 compositions written by composers with ties to the region. The cycle began with five pieces premiered at their very first concert and has since grown into a unique expression of Vestfold’s creative energy. The album also features music by two key figures in the local music scene: Olav Berg (Horten) and Roger Arve Vigulf (Sandefjord), both of whom have written original sextets for the ensemble.

This release of The Bragernes Canticles: Magnificat & Nunc dimittis, a powerful and radiant new recording of sacred music by internationally acclaimed Norwegian composer Kim André Arnesen. Performed by the Bragernes kirkes ungdomskor under the direction of Beate Strømme Fevang, this release captures the expressive depth and lyrical beauty of Arnesen’s music in an inspired and heartfelt interpretation.

The acclaimed Norwegian countertenor Daniel Sæther presents Yellow Sands, a compelling new album featuring four major vocal cycles by contemporary Norwegian composers Gisle Kverndokk, Bjørn Kruse, Lene Grenager, and Herman Vogt. With a distinctive focus on newly composed repertoire for countertenor, Yellow Sands explores poetic and spiritual themes through diverse musical lenses. 

 

 

Norwegian organist Anders Eidsten Dahl presents a deeply moving tribute to one of Norway’s greatest composers with the album Te Deum – Organ Works by Egil Hovland. Egil Hovland (1924–2013) holds a special place in Norwegian music history as a composer who seamlessly blended tradition with innovation. His organ music reflects a rare combination of lyrical beauty, spiritual depth, and a fearless approach to musical expression. The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra proudly presents Shostakovich/Strauss/Biber, a deeply significant album celebrating the remarkable artistic legacy of Terje Tønnesen, its longtime artistic director (1977-2021) and now Leader Laureate. Large Bird Mask is a recording featuring the acclaimed contemporary ensemble Cikada performing works by internationally renowned Norwegian composer Rolf Wallin. 

The posthumous recording Wall of Light was released, honoring the visionary Norwegian composer Morten Eide Pedersen. The album brings together an extraordinary constellation of performers: BIT20 Ensemble, Ensemble Allegria, Currentes, trombonist Sverre Riise, and flutist Ingela Øien.
