LAWO Classics vil med denne utgivelsen feire Brynjar Hoffs 70 år lange musikerliv. Hoff er en legende i norsk musikkliv. Han var en av de mest sette klassiske artistene på TV gjennom en årrekke og en av landets mest aktive musikere på konsertscener rundt om. Han var en av de få utvalgte norske musikere som både var solist og gjorde innspillinger med English Chamber Orchestra og London Philharmonic Orchestra. With this release, LAWO Classics wishes to celebrate Brynjar Hoff’s 70 years as a musician. Hoff is a legend in Norwegian musical life. For years he was one of the country’s most active classical artists as a television and concert performer in Norway and abroad. He was also one of the few Norwegian musicians to both perform as soloist and record with the English Chamber Orchestra and London Philharmonic Orchestra.

The foundation of Harpreet’s compositions is decades of schooling and training within the Indian raga tradition, with its scales and frameworks, from which she ventures in various directions. The music is North Indian Classical but draws on various folk music styles, contemporary classical music, Bollywood and much else besides and between. The result is an album characterised by its mix of sounds, unpredictable structures and seamless transitions within and between each track. Together, these three songs provide a very special soundscape where some listeners will experience the discovery of new territory, while others will feel something close to a homecoming. 

 
Nordic Unrest - Voltersvik, Oda (piano)

Nordic Unrest is a striking new solo piano album by the Norwegian pianist Oda Voltersvik. This deeply expressive recording explores the dramatic landscapes and folkloristic characters of the Nordic region. This album offers a compelling journey through two distinct yet complementary works from the Soviet era. Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 7, his final completed symphony, is a deeply lyrical and introspective piece composed in 1952. Britten: Suites for Solo Cello - Stalheim, Amalie (cello)

Britten’s seminal Suites for Solo Cello are a 20th century analogue to J.S. Bach’s landmark Suites for Solo Cello. All three of these pieces were written for, and dedicated to, the Russian titan of the cello, Mstislav Rostropovich. Coincidentally, Amalie Stalheim has recently been loaned a G.B. Guadagnini cello that was once owned by Mstislav Rostropovich. While she plays an F. Ruggieri cello from 1687 on this recording, Amalie makes her performance debut on the historic Guadagnini 1783 instrument in November 2025.
